Women-to-Women Workshops

Owning Your Career

Flynn Heath Holt offers a number of Women-to-Women workshops which can be packaged together, or run individually. These workshops are geared towards professional women and help enable the attendees to take ownership of their own careers. Some of our more popular workshop topics are:

Building a Personal Board of Directors

Career women often do not realize that in today’s business world it takes more than one mentor in order to succeed in a career. A personal board of directors can be a strategic advantage. This session helps you define your current career goals, identify 5-7 key people who can provide strategic advice and support, and take action to put your board of directors to work for you.

What are You Famous For?

Your personal brand is what others perceive about you. It is what makes you unique and memorable. It’s what they say when you leave the room. Most of us do not pay attention to the brand messages we are putting out to others. This session helps you focus on the key elements of your unique brand and what actions to take to insure that you are communicating your brand effectively.

Succeeding as a Woman: How Gender Differences Work in the Workplace

We intuitively know that men and women are different, but how do these differences play out in the workplace? Which differences can have a negative impact on us as women and what can we do about them? At this session you discover the impact of these key differences and how to make each one work for you, not against you:

  • Teamwork vs. Collaboration
  • Winning vs. Fairness
  • Friendliness vs. Friendship

Making Time for Your Career

We know that a busy manager’s life is full of competing priorities. There never seems to be enough time to do the things that are important for your career. This session teaches you how to set your priorities so that you get the most important things done, including time to be strategic about your career. We also help you highlight your most common time management obstacles and identify strategies to eliminate them.

Small talk: How to do it and like it!

“I can talk to people I already know but I clam up when it comes to small talk!” Many people are not good at small talk but knowing how to do it is a basic requirement for business success. This session covers:

  • Conversation starters.
  • How to gracefully enter and exit cocktail conversations.
  • How to make effective introductions.
  • How to make sure you meet the people you want to meet.
  • How to calm your nerves before you go to an event where you’ll have to make small talk.

“What? Me brag?”: Mastering the Art of Self-Promotion

As career women, we put our heads down and work hard. However, all too often we look up to see that a male peer whom we considered an equal has been promoted ahead of us. What happened? We may have mastered every nuance of our current job but we have not mastered the important art of self-promotion. This seminar will teach you:

  • Why we as women don’t like to talk about ourselves.
  • How to get over your fear of bragging.
  • How to recognize everyday opportunities for self-promotion.
  • How to be prepared with “something good” to say about yourself.

A New Take on Wealth Management: Your Contacts Are Your Currency

You may not realize how wealthy you are! Over the 30-40 year span of your career your contacts will continue to increase. If you are smart about recognizing their value you will navigate the phases of your career successfully and achieve the career you have set for yourself. This seminar helps you focus on:

  • Analyzing your current network of contacts.
  • Identifying immediate actions you can take to strengthen and broaden your network.
  • Planning for the “care and feeding” of your contacts.
  • Leveraging your contacts at strategic points in your career.

A Look in the Mirror: Executive Presence and Image

In order to be promoted to a more senior level in your organization you must be viewed as a person who already operates successfully at that level. The people who make promotion decisions can’t always describe executive presence but they know it when they see it. It means looking the part and acting the part of a senior leader. This seminar provides group instruction, individual consultations, and videotaping. Key topics are:

  • Executive Dress and Image
  • Powerful Executive Presence (stance, voice, language, etc.)
  • Power Robbers
  • Assertiveness Techniques
  • Dealing with Nervousness

So You’re a New Leader

Congratulations! You’ve received a promotion and you are in a new job and a new leadership role. Do you know what to do to get off to a successful start? This seminar provides a roadmap to insure your success. Key topics are:

  • Most common derailers for new leaders.
  • Special challenges for women leaders.
  • How to map out your first 100 days to insure “early wins”.
